Please find a list below of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in relation to our BYOD Program. 

What about Personal Content? 

We understand that student devices are a personal device and may contain games and personal content. The device will be the student’s tool to assist them with their learning. They are to be used for educational purposes at school.

What if my child doesn't have a device?

If your child does not have a device, they will not miss out. We have an equity of shared devices while they are at school, however it will not be able to be taken home.

How secure will my child's device be at the College?

Students are expected to bring their devices to school fully charged each day and taken home each night. Students will keep their device with them in their classroom or specialist area. When not in use, devices will be kept in a safe lockable space. Our school insurance does not cover students’ personal belongings for damage or theft. We suggest that parents check with their insurance company for cover. We will ensure that part of the BYOD program will involve discussion and education to reduce the risk of theft and damage.

What apps do we need to purchase?

Prep to Grade 4: None. We supply all prep to grade 4 students with the iPad apps via our mobile device management (MDM) solution.

Years 5 to 9: Students are supplied with the relevant software at the College.

Where can I purchase a device?

Devices can be purchased from most stores that store electronics. Apple, JB HIFI, Kmart, Big W, Harvey Norman and CompNow just to name a few. We have recently engaged with CompNow to provide our community with a purchasing portal. CompNow offer education discounts on devices as well as options for cases, warranty and payment options.
